This project pursued innovations expected to yield significant improvements to the economic performance of the Archimedes Waveswing™ concept. The original Waveswing™ concept was tested and demonstrated at large scale offshore Portugal in 2004 however the configuration did not provide an economic solution at that time.

Recent research by AWS Ocean Energy has improved the fundamental understanding of the device and identified new configurations for the concept which provide very significant improvement in performance and the cost of energy whilst reducing technical risk.

This team is currently undertaking a Stage 3 project.
