This is the NWEC stage 1 project summary report for the Joules Energy Efficiency Services "WaveTrain" project. The WaveTrain device is, in essence, an array of several linked floating inclined oscillating water column power modules. Each module consists of inclined inertia tubes, open at the bottom but closed by a canopy at the free surface housing a pneumatic turbine power take off system.

Power modules are arranged line astern in series and spaced approximately half a typical wavelength apart. An ‘A’ frame coupling member connects the lower end of the inertia tubes to the underside of the canopy of the preceding power module so that balancing self‐reaction support is achieved across the phase of a wave.
