Pelamis Cost Metrics
Project Lead
Quoceant Ltd
These reports form part of a set produced for Wave Energy Scotland following the closure of Pelamis Wave Power in 2014. The project, originally known as “Project Secure”, was run to capture key learnings from Pelamis. They developed wave energy converter technology over a period of 15 years, and had deployed their attenuator technology in both Portugal and Scotland.
This set of reports look at the costs of the Pelamis P2 machine in detail, giving realistic build costs and discussion on balancing cost v's quality. Three reports are available:
- High Level Cost Metrics for WEC Machine Elements
- PTO System Cost Metrics
- Moorings and Connection Systems Cost Metrics
Technical reports on various machine components are available on the Pelamis Wave Power Ltd page.
Additional reports, documents and data files referenced here may not be publicly available.
Pricing details were accurate at the time of writing in 2015, but should now be considered out of date. Supplier names have been redacted.
